Meteora

Meteora, one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites is an amazing array of Byzantine monasteries perched in awe producing locations high atop sandstone outcroppings. But it's important for more than the exquisite beauty. In this area just 2.5 miles away is the Theopetra Cave with it's stunning  evidence of continuous human inhabitation for over 130,000 years. Plus, at the cave entrance is one of the world oldest known man-made structures, a wall believed to be 23,000 years old.
