ITINERARY:
1st DAY: Depart from Athens for the amazing engineering feat, the Corinth Canal (short stop). Drive to Epidavros and visit the ancient Theatre famed for it' s acoustical perfection. (Try whispering from the stage) Proceed to beautiful Nafplion town(short stop) and through the plain of Argos arriving at Mycenae. Visit the legendary Mycenae archaeological site and the Tomb of Agamemnon. In the afternoon (optional stop for souvenirs) we depart for Olympia, the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Overnight stay in Olympia.
2nd DAY: Visit the archaeological site of the Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera, the Altar of the Olympic Flame, the Stadium and the Archaeological Museum. Depart via Patras (short stop) to Rion and cross the Corinthian Bay by the bridge to Antirion. The excursion will pass by the city of Nafpakros and then along the coastal road to Delphi, known in ancient times as the Navel of the World. In the afternoon, visit the picturesque mountain village of Arachova. Overnight stay in Delphi.
3rd DAY: Visit the Delphi Archaeological Site, and treasure-filled Delphi Museum. Enjoy the views of central Greece as the tour continues on to Kalambaka with a short stop in Lamia. Stay overnight in Kalambaka (a small town built at the foot of the majestic rock formations crowned by the Meteora Monasteries).
4th DAY: Leave in the morning for nearby breathtaking Meteora to visit the cliff-side Byzantine Monasteries. The excursion then returns to Athens passing the Thermopylae monument of legendary hero Leonidas of Sparta.
