OVERVIEW: The award winning vacation destination of popular Santorini if filled with history. On this private 'guided' (optional) history tour you will experience the glory days of Santorini (Thira), and its present day magnificent beauty. Starting in the capital, Fira, we'll see treasures dating back 3,500 year at the Museum of Prehistoric Thira. Then a drive to the actual site of the mountaintop Ancient Thira Ruins, which was home for the Egypt's royalty approx. 300 B.C.. if wine and winetasting is your thing, we stop at the Koutsougianopoulos Wine Museum  where through lifesize puppetry you’ll learn about Santorini's unique ancient wine making techniques and sample award winning wines. For lunchtime, we'll  go down to the beautiful Kamari black sand beach for some Mediterranean cuisine and a little free “beach” time. Finally, a ride to Oia (Ee-a), the most photographed and beautiful village of Santorini.

FYI:  Starting/pick up point: cruise ship pickup-- outside the EXIT doors of the tram lift. Look for a PLACARD with your name held by our representative. Airport or hotel pickups available (please request)   (Since only smaller vehicles holding 18 or less are allowed to Ancient Thira, we will go to Pirgos, a traditional picturesque town instead if there is more than 18 people in your group.).
